Service Dog Training
*Service dog recertification happens annually. Handlers and their dogs must demonstrate that training has been maintained in order to be certified for another year.
This program does not admit dogs with a history of aggression of any kind. The acceptance of dogs into our program is solely based on their temperament and their ability to preform tasks for their handler.
We reserve the right to decline dogs if their temperament is not suitable, or if their owners are not a good fit for our program.
As your dog progresses through this program they will achieve their AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen), CGCA,(Canine Good Citizen Advanced), and CGCU (Canine Good Citizen Urban) certifications.
We want all dogs to be safe and healthy. We require up-to-date vaccination records prior to using any of our services.
This program is designed to aid individuals with disabilities that benefit from having a task trained dog. While training we will be focusing on improving your relationship with your dog, task training tailored for your disability, and proofing all of your dogs commands in order to make sure that they’re able to ignore major distractions and preform wherever necessary.
Our curriculum is for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Our training curriculum follows a fear-free commitment focused on compassionate training methods. One of our biggest goals with any dog is to build a positive relationship with learning; that way whenever they are ready to progress they can do so with ease.
We have experience training a variety of dogs for different disabilities including:
Hearing dogs, PTSD service dogs, medical alert dogs, diabetic alert dogs, psychiatric service dogs, autism assistance service dogs, allergy alert dogs, and mobility assistance dogs.
Service Dog Training
Service dog training requires a high level of responsibility and dedication from both the handler and the dog. Our service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks to assist individuals with disabilities or medical conditions, and they play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life of their handlers.
The dog must have a neutral temperament and be free of fear, physically healthy, and capable of performing the required tasks.
